Concerned as it is with what happens after the string has been struck, the combination of Weingarten's playing with Fang's electronic treatments and processing gives full and rounded expression to the aesthetics of the sustain. Hovering clusters of notes and panoramic spaces are rendered in neat perspective on "Running Fence" and the transparent "Moon And Dome". Growing weary of such sonorous purity, Weingarten and Fang add a little orchestral dissonance and collapse towards the end of the collection, allowing things to get muddier on the rambunctious closers "Last Run" and Euphonia".
