Mollusk
Accretions (The Foundry/Hypnos)

HARD-SHELLED, SOFT-BODIED ORGANIC ATMOSPHERES: Aquatic currents augmented with strange electronic discharges surge through the cold depths of "The Sea." The haunted fathoms are stitched together with rusted electronic thread during the submersion into mystery that is "Barnacle: Archipelago." The aural foundation of Accretions finds Mollusk expertly (succinctly, to the point of eerie cognizance) assimilating the qualities inherent to the band's name. It even goes so far as to have a six-part sequence entitled "The Evolution Of The Snail's Brain" that constructs this sonic illusion (or did they somehow attach a miniature microphone to a snail?) via squiggly electronic pulses, piercing tones and atonal gurgles that resonate from within the shell. Accretions is unique, adventurous electronic music that sounds as though a mollusk actually had a say in the final results.
