Loop, Cobalt Sun, 415-332-2362 music@cobaltsun.net Synapse Electronic Arts Series presents "Sound & Vision", a very special evening featuring three-and-a-half hours of the work of video artists from around the world who compose with music! From the Experimental to the Ambient, this night has it all in sound and visual experiences. The evening's selections will be presented in a VJ fashion, mixed in the moment. "Sound & Vision," a term coined by the David Bowie song of the same name, aptly describes this amazing collection of works by visual artists who mix music with their video art to astounding syncronicity. From VJs, the term used to describe the phenomena of the Video Disc Jockey, who regularly perform in nightclubs around the globe adding the element of video mixing to the profession of music presentation, to video artists who work specifically in this medium creating works for private viewing, this evening promises to be a visual feast for the eyes and sonic massage for the ears. Cobalt Sun, the gallery/performance space for Synapse Electronic Arts Series and "Sound & Vision", is the perfect environment to view these works of video and music collaborations. Surrounded by multi-projections the audience is literally immersed in the visual and sound environment. Sit back in Cobalt Sun's pillows and take in incredible visual beauty and every kind of ambient, electronic, world and experimental music! Or, bring your own comfortable seating! Schedule: Feature presentation: "Chronos and Kairos" by Michael Bentley- Foundry label founder and electronic composer with a feature visual music presentation of beauty and depth. Selections will be presented from these artists: "Borealis" by Lynn Augstein- Segment of material from the recent DVD release from Sausalito, CA light artist featuring music of Steve Roach, David Parsons, and more. Kosho - video producer and VJ from Bay Area (Anon Salon, Groove Garden) with various cuts from his extensive VJ work including "SloMoVideo." Richard Bone - various cuts included from"Saiyuji" Bone is an ambient/minimalist electronic composer who lives in Rhode Island who has recently produced videos for his own music. John Wadsworth - Floating Worlds - Virginia-based video producer who has collaborated with Steve Roach ("Kairos") and others with various selections. "Elegant Shapes" by Liquid Buddha (Goa) - 3D animation from this internationally known video producer (NYC) who has worked with Wingmakers and other music artists. Also, selections from Earthdance DVD. "Illumination" by Ken Jenkins - selections from his DVD release with music from Iasos, Constance Denby and others. "Kairos" Steve Roach's - electronic pioneer's new DVD featuring video artists John Wadsworth, Lynn Augstein, Steve Lazur, Steven Rooke& John Vega. Ray Regan "Lightwaves" selections from a compilation by Vallejo, CA visual producer and musician. Paradise 2012 - Todd Stock's amazing computer animations and visualizations set to ambient music. Jeff Pearce "Luminous Dimensions" selections from his mystical DVD. David Fortney "Timeless" National Parks Odyssey with Patrick O'Hearn's music.
